'Stop corporate power'?

I usually do not get why people protest - not that protesting itself is wrong - but this old lady says something with her sign reading "Stop Corporate Power."(not seen in the picture)

I want to learn more about the consequences if they stop corporate power.

Yeah, i believe majority of the protesters do not say anything at all - at least of the ones in Turkey.

All in the past?

While we were talking about the books we have been reading lately, one of the secretaries working here in Iraq, the one who is Filipino, said "Why do you read history? It's all in the past."

I really enjoy talking to secretaries, truck drivers, carpenters, I mean.

The red line

Just like the various feelings you may have when you look at a line on different background colors, every new place one go, she will define herself from the beginning with diverse feelings. As abstract expressionist Barnett Newman also stipulated in his paintings some of which are shown below, i feel the difference in the environment in every place i go.

Bangladeshi Counsellor

A counselor from Embassy of People's Republic of Bangladesh in Baghdad, Iraq came the other day to visit the company I am working for. Unluckily, none of the managers were available to listen to him, maybe because he came without any appointment, and thus, they brought the counselor to my office to listen what he wanted to say. So, I asked his intention of visit. He replied, he came to offer us to employ his people, Bangladeshi, to work for the company in this nearly $200 mln project. There was a mix of emotions in his words; proud, sense of duty, and some other that I cannot name right now. Even though he offers unskilled workers, what an honor for an officer to help people from his nationality. Not that I am a nationalist, but still, isn't this what it has to be?

'the goal'

At the risk of being boring, i have to note this here.
On September 11, 2010, i published a post here regarding the goal of humankind stating that each individual 'should reach happiness' somehow. Although it has not been long, i disagree with myself as to whether the goal that i have stated was thorough. Is happiness an asset to be achieved, or is it just a feeling, like many others, that shall be experienced while you are on a journey to 'the place', which i alleged  as 'happiness' on my previous post?

Since i disregarded the word 'happiness' as 'the goal of life', we have to come up with a new word and i think i know that. Make a guess and then click here to see my proposal.
